Formats of Care


“In June 2019, a group of feminist practitioners convened in a rainwater basin of a defunct airport in Berlin Tempelhof. This basin, constructed in the nineteenth century to collect the water of neighboring buildings in order to return it to the Landwehrkkanal, was a piece of disused, public land converted into an experimental urban infrastructure called Floating University. In this architectural constellation of untreated lumber, borrowed scaffolding, and muddy waters, over a dozen artists, architects, curators, and students convened for Formats of Care, the second part of the working symposium that took place in Vienna and Berlin in May and June 2019.
